Soapy Tuesday (or Wednesday evening, I am trying here!!) – Olive Oil

This week I am talking about Olive Oil, Olea Europaea (Olive) Fruit Oil.  When I started making soap olive oil was in so many of the recipes I found, so I put it my soap.  I found it was a good balance to coconut oil, for the basic reason that coconut oil removes dirt and dead skin cells and olive oil nourishes.  I like this simple balance and that it makes sense.

Olive oil is liquid fat obtained from the Olives.  The Olive tree is native to the Mediterranean region, it is also one of the oldest known trees.  Olive oil is the perfect natural skin care ingredient, and has been used in products for skin for thousands of years.  It is an oil is moisturizing, but will not clog pores, making great for skin prone to breakouts.  It has polyphenol and oleic acid making it great for aging skin, will aid sealing in moisture, and will not harm cells.  Olive oil is rich in vitamin E & A, again great for aging skin.  It is a gentle and can be used on most skin types and is perfect for summer skin.  Finally it is hypoallergenic making it great for all ages.

There you have the reasons I love olive oil for skin care.  Thanks for stopping by, if you are interested in trying out some soap, head over to the shop and  use the coupon code BLOG and get 10% OFF your order!
